The place
A 17th-century inn on the water at Durgerdam, restored with studio Aedes and quiet enough to forget the city entirely. Behind the white facade, moody colors and a patient mix of modern and vintage.
Fourteen rooms and suites in olive, ochre and terracotta — vintage furnishing, curated artwork, bathroom tiles from Tichelaar, Hypnos beds, Zenology toiletries. A yoga mat waits in the corner.
Downstairs, De Mark looks out at Lake IJmeer. Chef Koen Marees reworks classics from local, seasonal produce. Rent a Veloretti bike and follow the village lanes, or simply swim in the lake.
