The place

Hotel La Pérouse sits on a cliff above Nice. Built in 1936 and recently revived by Friedmann & Versace Studio, it carries the easy, nostalgic charm of the old Riviera. The 53 rooms are calm — neutral and yellow hues, curvaceous furniture, vintage floral accents, wooden floors. Every one opens onto its own terrace or balcony.

A heated outdoor pool. A rooftop terrace. A fitness room and a wooden sauna. And Le Patio, the hotel's restaurant and bar, spreading from dining room to veranda to a tree-lined terrace, where chef Damien Andrews cooks the vibrant flavors of Southern France.
