The place

Behind a peach-coloured facade in the coastal town of Hyères, a 19th-century building keeps its calm. Studio Haddou Dufourcq worked the interior in creamy hues — nothing raised above a murmur.

The 37 rooms and suites carry quiet references to Art Deco, Moorish, Palladian, and 1920s design. Curvaceous designer furniture, retro mouldings, seats of straw and rattan. Modern comforts are there, unannounced.

Elsewhere: a plunge pool outdoors, a terrace that catches the breeze, a library. Chef Emmanuel Perrodin cooks Mediterranean dishes in the open air, and the burr wood bar pours its cocktails.
