The place

A 1960s seaside motel in Galveston, Texas, reimagined just steps from Porretto Beach. With Kartwheel Studio, the facade was painted a crisp ivory; inside, everything settles into a soothing mid-century calm.

The 61 rooms come in six configurations, in earthy, creamy hues — modern furnishings, patterned textiles, and bathroom tiles original to the 1960s. Grown Alchemist toiletries, Italian robes, private balconies.

The heart of the place is the pool deck: checkered tiles, sage sun beds, yellow umbrellas. The Den keeps drinks and bites going all day, while The Fancy serves sophisticated American cooking with an artistic French accent.
