The place

A 1950s motel near Brackenridge Park, reborn as a tranquil San Antonio getaway. Ranch Motel & Leisure Club keeps its 26 rooms and suites sleek and understated — neutral tones, vintage furniture, and small considered touches: Thuma beds with Parachute linens, a Tivoli alarm clock, Le Labo in the bathroom.

The showstopper is the pool. Large, idyllic, wrapped in greenery and lined with grey loungers.

Then the leisure club earns its name — a mezcal lounge, a listening room, a games room, an outdoor courtyard, pickleball courts. The in-house bar keeps a few quick bites on hand, and multiple restaurants sit a short stroll from the door.
