The place

Three hundred and fifty acres of Finger Lakes countryside, and six historic houses scattered across them. Inns of Aurora holds 55 rooms in all, each house with its own temperament — E.B. Morgan House is a stone mansion right on the lake; Zabriskie House hangs original contemporary art.

The farm-inspired spa sits on the hills above Cayuga Lake. Four hot soaking pools, two cold plunges, two steam rooms, saunas — a slow hydrotherapy circuit, with indoor and outdoor rooms for resting in between.

Dinner is farm-to-table at 1833 Kitchen & Bar. Fargo Bar & Grill handles creative pub fare and local brews.
