The place

Twenty acres of private woodland in Bedford, and a house that has stood since the 1780s. Bedford Post Inn keeps its history close — eight rooms only, each with calming tones, refined furnishings, old wooden beams overhead, and a deep soaking tub set in marble.

Outside, the pool sits wrapped in green. There is a sun-drenched yoga studio, forest bathing among the trees, a revitalizing massage when the day asks for one.

The 1762 farmhouse holds The Tavern, given over to quintessential American tavern fare. The Barn keeps things simpler, with classic dishes served all day.
