The place
On Kahuwai Bay, a village from the sixties remade as a hideaway. The 150 rooms and suites live in free-standing thatched-roof bungalows — bespoke furniture, Hawaiian motifs, a dark concrete bathtub, an outdoor shower, a private lanai for the evening air.
Four pools, counted slowly: an infinity pool, a family pool, a 25-meter pool for adults with a hot tub and the beach right there. The Asaya Spa, tennis courts, and a fitness center fill out the days.
The cooking stays rooted in authentic Hawaiian flavors — five restaurants and bars in all, from Kiawe wood-fired dishes to Japanese plates.
