The place

In the countryside of Vico Equense, near Sorrento, Laqua Countryside keeps a quiet distance from the Amalfi Coast without losing it. Lamatilde designed the eight rooms and suites in a calm contemporary register; Marina’s Room sits under a vaulted ceiling, its private terrace open to the hills.

Days here follow the garden. A thousand square metres of kitchen plots feed the restaurant, where Michelin-starred chef Nicola Somma cooks from garden to table, a considered wine selection alongside. The outdoor pool looks out to the hillside; yoga and pilates sessions take place at its edge.
