The place

Las Balsas sits on seventeen hectares at the shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi, near Patagonia. The suites occupy a blue wooden house, Alpine in feeling, each with its view. Ten villas stand apart — soaring floor-to-ceiling windows, standalone bathtubs, modern furnishing.

There is an infinity pool, a hot tub, a gym, massages when wanted.

Chef Duvan Ochoa cooks from what Patagonia gives — refined plates that lean Latin American and European at once. The hotel works quietly at the other end too: bird conservation, water and energy kept in check.
