The place
Locke at East Side Gallery opened in 2023, an apartment-style hotel shaped by New York studio Grzywinski + Pons. The public spaces wear soft pink, blue, and green, threaded with greenery and industrial touches.
The 176 studios and suites are quieter — grey and wood, exposed concrete ceilings, dried flowers. Each carries the essentials of living rather than visiting: a fully fitted kitchen, a desk, a TV, a yoga mat.
ANIMA is the house's eating, drinking, and listening concept — an al-fresco room with a Mediterranean-inspired menu, views over the River Spree, and a custom Hi-Fi system for curated listening sessions. A co-working space, a modern fitness center, and a communal laundry complete the picture.
