Marufukuro

The place

Marufukuro occupies the 1930s Art Deco building that was once the headquarters of Nintendo. The historic interior has been preserved, its story intact, and a new annex by Tadao Ando now stands beside the original.

The 18 rooms and suites divide between the wings. In the heritage rooms, a nostalgic charm and touches of colour; in the modern ones, a sleek monochrome. Each holds bespoke furnishing, plush bedding, Oltana toiletries, a writing desk.

A lounge and library gathers books, artwork, and installations tracing the company's history. Carta cooks contemporary Western food with seasonal produce and traditional Japanese seasoning; an intimate bar counter waits nearby.
