The place

Norumbega Inn began as a grand 1880s private residence in Camden, Maine, and is now an intimate getaway of eleven rooms. Behind the Queen Anne facade, old-world elegance and modern sophistication hold each other in balance. Each room is unique — tasteful furnishings, spa-like bathrooms, upscale amenities.

Some rooms and suites go further, with a private terrace and a deep soaking tub.

The seasonal restaurant is helmed by Peruvian chef Marymarcel Densmore: curated bites, with wine, beer, and non-alcoholic pours alongside. Days can drift toward a round at Goose River Golf Course, or out to Monhegan Island.
