Behind a historic sandstone facade in Manchester's city centre, an affordable hideout with a considered design. Red Deer studio set playful contemporary touches against industrial bones — the 137 rooms and suites pair curvaceous furniture with exposed brick and splashes of pastel green.

The heart of the hotel is one open-plan room — restaurant, bar and co-working space — serving casual dishes, local craft beers and classic cocktails through the day. Breakfast runs from a full English buffet with continental items to à la carte.
