The place
Open since 1912, its pink facade a fixture of Hollywood's golden age. John Wayne stayed here. So did Marilyn Monroe. A refurbishment from 2012 to 2015 brought the 5-star hotel forward without letting go of any of it.
The 208 rooms and suites are light-filled and neutral, lifted by pops of pink and red, with bespoke bedding, classic Hollywood-style furnishings, and a private balcony each.
The pink carries to the outdoor pool, where plush daybeds sit in the greenery. A modern fitness center and a spa are on hand. And there is the Polo Lounge — dreamy, vibrant, a dining room that seems lifted from film.
