The place
A hundred-year-old chalet in Adelboden, a small town in the Swiss Alps, rethought in 2024 by Amsterdam studio Nicemakers. Where a classic lodge would go rustic, The Brecon goes contemporary — mid-century furniture, textured materials, colorful artwork and objects through the public rooms.
The 22 rooms and suites all hold a beautiful view. Palettes of neutral, deep red, and forest green; vintage and contemporary furniture; artwork from Bisou Gallery. Deluxe bedding, Aesop bath products, and a private balcony come with each.
The heated outdoor pool looks straight at the Adelboden Massif. A sauna and steam room wait in the spa, with revitalizing treatments alongside. And since the house is all-inclusive, food and drink simply arrive — an à la carte breakfast, afternoon tea, a seasonal dinner menu from the open kitchen.
