The place
A Spanish mission-style building from 1922, in Auckland's Grey Lynn. The Convent Hotel was refurbished in 2020, but the original ceilings and distressed walls were left to speak.
Twenty-two rooms, rustic and chic, in a range of configurations. Vintage-inspired furnishing, plush bedding, the odd unexpected object. Some open onto a private balcony; some keep a kitchenette.
Ada serves an Italian-inspired menu built for sharing, and The House Bar pours a diverse list. Take a glass of wine out to the balcony and stay a while.
