Santa Monica, June 2025. The Eden takes over a 1939 Streamline Moderne building — for years the iconic Shangri-La Hotel — and settles it into a softer register. Seventy rooms and suites in soft neutrals: clean modern furnishings, deep soaking tubs, organic linens, Sachajuan in the shower.
The center of gravity is the outdoor pool and hot tub, ringed by loungers, cabanas, and garden green. Poolside dining runs through the day, drinks and bites included. In the lobby, a café with Coffee Manufactory serves specialty coffee and sandwiches. There is also a 24-hour fitness center, a yoga room, and a scenic rooftop deck.
