The place
A 1950s roadside motel on Tulane Avenue, brought back in 2025 as something quieter. New York's Studio Tre restored the mid-century mood; the 18 rooms are built of custom birch millwork and cork floors, hung with tapestries by Oaxacan artist Ismael Gutierrez Montano.
The saltwater pool anchors it all, ringed by loungers and vibrant shades, opening onto the garden courtyard. Inside the lobby, The Maidstone Lounge mixes cocktails and sets out pool bites from local food makers.
