The Mercer
The place
A landmark of Romanesque Revival brick, standing in SoHo since 1890, beside the Lower East Side. Behind the red facade, The Mercer keeps its lobby intimate: white exposed brick, dark wooden furniture, patterned carpets, the faintest jewel tones.
The 73 rooms and suites are Christian Liaigre’s work — refined, minimal, neutral. They borrow from the city’s iconic loft tradition: tall ceilings, open floor plans, large windows that hold the downtown light.
Sartiano’s spans the lobby and a subterranean dining room with modern Italian fine dining. A private workout room is available by appointment, with a luxury gym nearby. The hotel’s curated Black Book points to cool places across the city.
