The place

Within the 450-acre Hōkūala resort on Kauai, surrounded by unspoilt natural landscape. The 58 residences run two to four bedrooms, made for families and groups: modern furnishings, deep soaking tubs, and private lanais that hold the view. Some come with a private pool.

The 18-hole Ocean Course threads golf along the island's edge. There is also an infinity pool, tennis and pickleball courts, a fitness center, and equipment rentals.

Hualani's handles the meals. Open-air, breakfast through dinner, its farm-to-table menu follows whatever is fresh at The Farm at Hōkūala.
