The place

A beachfront estate on the Indian Ocean, twelve hectares of it, laid out like a village of villas. Jestico + Whiles gave each a mix of contemporary furniture and local artisanal detail. The suites and villas hold a private outdoor pool or jacuzzi.

The private beach is the heart of it, the ocean open in every direction. An infinity pool, a gym indoors and out, a spa. The kitchen draws from many places at once, European, African, Arabic, Indian. At Upendo, the main restaurant, international dishes carry a local turn.
