Behind a red brick facade in the heart of Annapolis, a Queen Anne mansion from 1878 keeps its period grandeur and gains a modern calm. With nine rooms only, 86 State Circle feels less like a hotel than a well-kept guest home.
Each room is designed individually — custom millwork, hand-selected textiles, a marble bathroom. Italian Percale linens; Farmaesthetics bath products.
The Black Pearl, an intimate lounge bar, pours vintage spirits. Elsewhere, a parlor, a garden terrace, and a dining room where breakfast and afternoon tea are taken slowly.
