The place
Hidden near Alaior, Amagatay gathers several 19th-century farmhouses — gabled roofs, dry stone walls — into a secluded Mediterranean retreat. Designer Virginia Nieto took her palette from the land: ochres, olive green, powdered and toasted tones.
Twenty suites, no two the same. Exposed stone, wooden beams, handmade ceramics, linen on everything. Some open onto a private terrace or garden.
The pool looks out over lush olive groves and asks nothing of you. At the al fresco restaurant, guided by chef Juanjo López Bedmar, the kitchen keeps things simple and refined, working from the freshest local produce.
