BELLUSTAR TOKYO
The place
The top nine floors of the Tokyu Kabukicho Tower, in the heart of Shinjuku. Keiji Ashizawa and Norm Architects worked in moody shades of black and grey, so the neon stays outside the glass.
Of the 97 rooms and suites, the five penthouse suites are the quiet ones — soaring ceilings, walls of window, the skyline sweeping in every direction, the feel of a private residence in the sky. The palette is dark and earthy, softened by contemporary furnishing and curated objects.
Three restaurants share the height. Restaurant Bellustar refines French ideas through the best Japanese produce; Ten-Yu works the teppan; JIN-È keeps to authentic omakase.
