The place

Trunk(Hotel) Yoyogi Park stands at the edge of its namesake park near Shibuya — a new concrete building lined with lush greenery, quiet against the city.

The 25 rooms and suites are pale wood and natural materials, Japanese and Scandinavian at once. Kvadrat sofas, Karimoku furniture, curated artwork and ceramics. Nothing raises its voice.

On the roof, an infinity pool with a jacuzzi, loungers, and a poolside bar looks out over the green sweep of Yoyogi Park. On the ground floor, Pizzeria e Trattoria L'Ombelico serves Neapolitan pizza from an Italian wood-fired oven, all day.
