Espita, Mexico
Casona Los Cedros
The place
In Espita, a small town in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, a colonial building stood abandoned for thirty years. Architect Laura Lecué brought it back — Casona Los Cedros is that revival, elegant and contemporary without erasing what came before.
Eight rooms and suites take their cues from the original house. A neutral palette in stone, natural fiber, wood, and chukum; furnishings placed with care; a private terrace for each.
The pool sits inside the renovated tropical garden, half-hidden by leaves. At CASONA restaurant and bar, chef Jorge Ildefonso composes a refined menu from fresh local produce.
