Henry Howard Hotel
The place
In the Garden District of New Orleans, a double gallery townhouse built by the prolific architect Henry Howard in 1867. The 2016 transformation kept what mattered — the grand Corinthian columns above all — and made room for 18 guest rooms and suites.
Hunter Mabry Design, out of New York, gave them their elegant classic line: soaring ceilings, hand-curated vintage furniture, local artwork placed with care, modern touches sprinkled through. A relaxing lounge and a courtyard complete the house. Small, historic, unhurried.
