The place

A narrow black building in Streeterville, downtown Chicago, that keeps its own logic. Rockwell Group threaded the interiors with art and science — hanging bookshelves, curated works, glints of copper.

The 195 rooms and suites sit in a moody palette of blue and brown, their furnishings shaped by Art Deco. A marble-and-glass bathroom, premium Serta bedding, a proper workspace, in-room Amazon Alexa. Pets are welcome.

Albert, the restaurant, turns Midwestern ingredients toward Italy. A cocktail bar covers the rest, and a 24-hour gym stays open through the night.
