The place

An 1870s farmhouse in the charming town of Arbonne, just south of Biarritz, tucked into the French Basque Country. Delphine Carrère refreshed the interior with a laid-back modern hand — 33 rooms and suites in earthy tones and designer furniture, some opening onto a private balcony.

The centerpiece is the 20-meter heated outdoor pool, ringed by loungers and lush greenery. Light fills the yoga and fitness room; a sauna, a steam room, and treatment rooms wait nearby.

Meals stay easy. The dining room lays out a daily breakfast buffet, aperitif boards, and organic meal jars. There is a shared kitchen if you would rather cook your own.
