The place
A 1912 brick building at the water's edge in Nacka Strand. R.O.O.M. reworked the property with the nautical ease of New England — soft tones, reupholstered furniture, nothing raised above a murmur. Each of the 155 rooms and suites has a private balcony and Byredo products in the bath.
A wooden sauna, an adjoining gym, and private spa treatments fill the quiet hours. The garden looks straight out over the water.
At the quayside, Restaurant J runs as a marine brasserie — Scandinavian at heart, with influences from further out. The hotel keeps its own pier; arriving by boat is entirely possible.
