The place

A Victorian mansion from the 1890s, lovingly revived in the Catskills town of Tannersville, Upstate New York. Behind Hotel Lilien's deep green facade, the communal rooms are dark and wooden — vintage Victorian furnishings, curious antique objects, the kind of quiet that suits an old house.

The 18 rooms and suites feel more contemporary. White walls and wood, elegant mid-century furniture, antique Persian rugs underfoot, beautifully tiled bathrooms. Wright mattresses and Further toiletries round things out.

Behind the house, an outdoor pool with ample lounge beds for slow summer afternoons. There are billiards and board games, guided nature walks, and a complimentary continental breakfast each morning. The in-house bar and lounge pours a wide range of drinks alongside share-style dishes.
