The place
Upstate New York, near Windham, deep in Catskills green. The Henson occupies a 159-year-old ivory structure, and the owners designed the interiors themselves — moody, nostalgic, earthy tones with contemporary accents. The sixteen rooms are warm and homey: Casper mattresses, Grown Alchemist toiletries, Marshall speakers.
A cozy lounge, a scenic roof deck, and a landscaped garden with plenty of places to sit. Then there is Matilda. Helmed by acclaimed chefs Jeremiah Stone and Fabián Von Hauske Valtierra, the refined restaurant takes its shape from the Catskills' shifting landscapes. The classic bar next door handles the rest of the evening.
