The place

Behind a white Victorian facade in the Catskills, an 1880 complex refurbished with its heritage intact. The 110 rooms and suites carry a vintage line — custom furniture, velvet bed frames, Turkish rugs over oak wood floors. Some add a Carrara marble bathroom, a soaking tub, or a balcony with the mountains beyond.

The heated outdoor pool is the gathering point, ringed by loungers and umbrellas. Then wood-fired saunas, pickleball courts, fire pits, a room for games. Babblers — restaurant, bar, and bakery in one — sees to meals and everything between.
