The place

Hotel Sin Nombre inhabits a 17th-century colonial mansion in Oaxaca City, opened as a hotel in 2020. The facade is dark grey; the interior looks toward North Africa and Morocco. At its heart, a white courtyard rises to a soaring cupola, past historic columns and arches.

The 22 rooms and suites stay raw and minimal — white, black, and wood, with square stone tiles, tropical wood furniture, and curated antiques placed with intent.

On the rooftop, a cozy plunge pool with loungers and the surrounding views. Restaurante Sin Nombre gives authentic Oaxacan dishes an international turn, while Cantinita keeps one of the best mezcal collections in town.
