The place

In the heart of Mérida, behind a rustic stone facade, Japoneza Retreat hides a white and wooden house drawn from the idea of a treehouse. Greenery threads through everything.

The rooms mix wood, stone and concrete, softened by Japanese-style curtains that are handmade and dyed one by one. A plush king bed, a bathtub for slow evenings, coffee facilities, free internet — nothing more than is needed.

Outside, two pools: a long stretch of water for swimming and a cold plunge 4.5 metres deep. There is a jacuzzi-style temazcal and a spa. In the restaurant, Japanese and Mexican cooking meet on a single fusion menu.
