The place

A classic cedar Hamptons house in East Hampton, easy to walk past. Inside, warmth — mid-century furniture, wooden parquet, colorful artwork. The 22 rooms are dressed in Frette linens, with Molton Brown toiletries and Kassatex towels.

The heated outdoor pool is the center of things, ringed by plush lounge beds and greenery. Behind it, a large backyard garden — a sauna, fire pits, lawn games, places to sit. Indoors, the lobby keeps a quiet lounge and a shelf of books.

There is no restaurant on-site. A grab-and-go breakfast appears each morning instead.
