In the heart of Guanajuato, a white colonial house conceals La Valise San Miguel de Allende. Inside, neutral stucco meets psychedelic art installations and furnishings by the renowned Mexican artist Pedro Friedeberg — a chic retreat that wears its history lightly.
Six suites, each designed individually. Soothing neutral palettes, mid-century wooden furniture, adorned walls, curated objects, local stone. A bathtub, deluxe bedding, L'Oréal toiletries, a Marshall speaker.
At the centre of the house, a plunge pool and a jacuzzi wait in the quiet. Breakfast, made from fresh local ingredients, comes daily with the stay. There is no formal restaurant on-site, but San Miguel keeps plenty of tables close by.
