The place

A historic ranch in the forested hills of Big Sky, Montana, hosting travelers for over a hundred years. The 26 accommodations run from cozy one-bedroom cabins to six-bedroom lodges, each individually designed with wood-burning stoves, bespoke vintage furnishings, and handwoven textiles.

Just northwest of Yellowstone National Park, the ranch offers naturalist-led tours into the park's iconic landscape and wildlife. Otherwise: Nordic skiing, canoeing, fly fishing, dog sledding.

Evenings settle at Horn & Cantle, where the dishes are fresh and Alpine, or in the Auric Room over a glass of rare whisky.
