The place

A heritage-listed house in Bolzano, its oldest walls dating to 1330. The burnt orange facade and white shutters remain; inside, a Mid-century mood recalls the golden age of Italian cinema.

The 60 rooms and suites keep to pale greens, reds, and browns — walnut furniture, original herringbone parquet underfoot, Susanne Kaufmann toiletries in the bathroom.

The quiet centre of the place is the outdoor pool, ringed by loungers and greenery. There is also a fitness room, a yoga studio, and a wooden sauna. At Luna Bar, drinks and classic bar bites are taken in the open air.
