Hotel Saltus

The place

At 1,100 meters above sea level, in the town of Bolzano, Hotel Saltus is built of larch — a wooden structure by Tara Architekten that seems grown rather than placed. Inside, the palette is the landscape's own.

The 39 rooms and suites keep to wabi-sabi restraint: limestone floors, clay walls, minimal furnishings, and the modern things kept out of the way.

The 18-meter infinity sky pool and its terrace hold the mountain ranges in full view. Below, an indoor pool, a fitness room, saunas, treatment rooms, and programmes built around rest. The kitchen stays close to South Tyrol — contemporary dishes carrying the taste of forest and mountain.
