RC Hotel Kyoto

The place

In the residential quiet of Yasaka stands RC Hotel Kyoto, a rustic concrete building that spent over fifty years as an apartment complex. A series of loving restorations left the raw industrial character in place; nine minimalistic rooms now spread across three floors.

Each floor takes a theme — vegetation, handicrafts, art. The rooms stay true to the facade: exposed concrete walls, vintage wooden furnishings, and all the basics attended to.

There is no restaurant, and that feels right. A small bar pours local Kyoto beers and sakes.
