The place

Soho House took the Bungehuis, a 1930s Art Deco building at the edge of the Singel Canal, and kept its original bones — then furnished the rest in moody, eclectic vintage.

The 79 rooms and suites carry the Deco line through. Plush bedding, a rain shower, and in some, a standalone bronze bathtub that anchors the room.

The rooftop pool is the heart of it, the city laid out around the terrace. A gym, sauna, steam room and spa sit within; Cecconi serves northern Italian classics.
