The place
On King Street in Downtown Charleston, The Pinch gathers four buildings — three historic, one new three-story structure — under the eye of Morris Adjmi Architects. The interiors take Victorian design and set it in the present tense.
The 25 rooms and suites are bright, soothing, and exact. Velvet sofas, vintage rugs, bespoke furnishings, and in the bathrooms, hand-painted Moroccan tiles.
For a small hotel, the table runs deep. Lowland, led by chef Jason Stanhope, is a Southern tavern of timeless classics and sophisticated comfort food. The Quinte answers as a spirited oyster bar — fresh seafood and cocktails.
