The Wurlitzer Building, 1926, in Downtown Detroit — lovingly restored by Ash NYC. The Italian Renaissance facade sets the key, and the interiors answer with vintage glamour: curated antiques, bold velvet, chandeliers throwing their light across the room.
The 106 rooms and suites speak more softly. Pink hand-loomed blankets, terrazzo bathrooms in red, green, or blue, vintage lighting, brown marble tabletops — retro Italian, in small doses.
Five in-house venues carry the food and drink. Albena is an intimate fine-dining room with a refined, minimalistic menu, while Ash Bar plays vintage European cafe with an American accent.
