The place

A terracotta house above the coast near Lagos, once the private home of a seventeenth-century noble family, now a quiet base for the Western Algarve. The 27 rooms are each their own — some traditional Portuguese, some contemporary Bohemian.

The outdoor pool and jacuzzi hold the widest view: the Atlantic, panoramic and uninterrupted. Around them, manicured gardens, a holistic spa, a games room, and a yoga pavilion with weekly sessions.

Restaurant Mirandus serves healthy Mediterranean cooking in the open air. The Monkey Bar pours fine wines and cocktails as the light goes.
