The place

A six-story black-brick building near the center of Louisville, Kentucky — and inside, the opposite of its facade: color everywhere. Working with Rohe Creative, the lobby opens onto terrazzo floors, red velvet curtains, local artwork, and touches of greenery.

The 122 rooms and suites each take a theme of bright yellow, blue, or red. Retro at heart, they are furnished with a mix of vintage and modern pieces over wooden floors, with curated artwork on the walls. Sferra linens, ROHE fixtures, Ortigia at the bath.

Four places to eat and drink. Rosettes, on the ground floor, is an all-day restaurant that borrows the ease of an al fresco Parisian café. On the roof, Bar Genevieve pairs cocktails and French-Mediterranean plates with a panoramic view of the city.
