The place

Six 1970s Airstream trailers on the rooftop of a CBD car park, their reflective shells set before a large abstract purple mural hand-painted by owner James Fry. Melbourne has nothing else quite like it.

Inside, the trailers turn pink and white, somewhere between vibrant and futuristic. Each has a queen bed, an ensuite with a full-height shower, a bar fridge stocked with complimentary drinks and snacks, its own cooling and heating, free wifi. One carries an open-air sapphire spa under the sky.

There is no restaurant up here. Steps away, Cumulus Inc. serves a lively all-day menu from seasonal ingredients, and Fancy Hank's on Bourke Street slow-cooks American barbecue.
