The place

On the Miles River, at the edge of St Michaels, Maryland. Inn at Perry Cabin has stood since the 1800s, and a recent overhaul left its old-world bones intact. The 78 rooms and suites keep to a serene white palette — vintage-inspired furnishings, French shutters, quiet nautical touches.

Days here move with the water. The hotel keeps its own fleet for sailing the Chesapeake; back on land there is a seasonal outdoor pool, an 18-hole golf course, a steam room, treatment rooms, and a fitness center open around the clock.
