The place
Beside Monbijou Park in central Berlin, a neo-Baroque telegraph office from 1910 begins its second life. The interior takes the building's heritage and turns it moody — industrial glamour, softly handled. The 87 rooms pair elegant furniture with exposed brick, Art Deco accents and traces of the original structure.
Food and drink run four concepts deep. ROOT serves bistro classics and signature sushi; Dieselhaus, an industrial-style bar, gives beer culture and German cooking their due. A fitness center, three saunas and a spa complete the house.
